Press & Hold Accent Menu is missing on Mac

I really like how it is to write non-English words with a Mac keyboard. just like smartphones simply holding on a key that has different possible accents triggers a small menu where you can select a different accent/umlaut.
Yesterday I found out that for some reason this feature is no longer working on my Mac, pretty annoying right.
Luckily there was an easy fix for me. run the following command in terminal and reboot your computer.

defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true

Hopefully, this helps you, cause if you are like me, I bet you’d hate the solutions posted on Apple forums like pressing 4 different keys while rebooting your computer or an SMC reset.
